Ricardo Gathers is the 8th-ranked power forward and the sixth best player available in the class of 2012, according to Scout.com. He was originally committed to St. John’s but decommitted in early November because he wasn’t 100% sure with the decision. Now he’s considering Kentucky, St. John’s, Baylor, LSU and N.C. State — and he’s holding out for an offer from the Cats.
“I haven’t really heard from them yet. I’m kind of waiting on it,” he said. “If it happens, it happens.”

4) Cal’s still waiting on Bennett. We’ve already got Poythress, and Willis the year after, not to mention the guys he’s still after for 2013. If Gathers isn’t one-and-done, Cal will wait as long as possible.

Scout has Gathers at 33, ESPN has him at 34, Rivals has him at 37. He’s 8, 10 & 13 in their position rankings.

He’s the 34th ranked player overall on ESPN (****). Scouts say he has an NFL body and could be an intimidating enforcer !

TAKE HIM. Bennett and Bazz won’t be worried about playing time if we sign Gathers. Gathers knows he’s not a ’1 n done’ – can’t hurt to have a 3 or 4 year player.

How good are his school grades? Is he a good person? I don’t know the answers, but I’m guessing Cal does. You don’t offer a kid just because he’s available and he has enough talent. There are other factors to consider.

Can someone intelligently explain to me the hate of the uniforms? For one game..who cares?
By the way, NCAA…pass the rule that the home team can wear the dominant color at home. They are the “big blue” not the “big white.” Should be wearing blue at home, not on the road.

#12 I do not take anything from the horses mouth known as ESPN, but their prep basketball ranking and analysis has greatly improved since they hired Dave Telep. Guy knows his stuff and is inside the scene more than even the swagg master himself, Evan Daniels.

Just because a kid wants to play at KY does’t mean Cal wants him. Look at Hickey who wanted to play for KY and wasn’t recruited by UK or Louisville. This kid played for Christian Co. who were the KY State Champs plus he was Mr. KY. Wonder why neither school wanted him ? Hopkinsville is where I used to live before I moved to Ga. and still know a lot of people there, and I know why neither school wanted Hickey. Enough said. Cal will pick who he wants and that is good enough, plus they want disgrace the BBN.
