so much going on in this picture its hard to focus lol. the stormtrooper was at the airport last yr when uk beat unc to go to the final four and everybody went up there. he has a blue lightsaber. apparentley the task force is going to furnish him a segway to ride around on in rupp arena now. they thought of everything!

the new arena is dead, the mayor ask the govenor for 20 million back in december for another study done by a swedish/german company. I thought for one in early october things were going well from the people I know on the inside,but the mayor has just used uk as a pawn. if you will notice the city of louisville put up @ 150 million to build the new arena. you are looking at probably 4 years out now. it is dead this session and died in december. i could go on but i think that is enough info.

Before all the Star Wars dorks freak; that trooper is known as a Scout Trooper not a Storm Trooper.
I hope to God the people working on Rupp learn from the financial problems of the Yum Center. The Yum Center is in all kinds of trouble, the City of Louisville/taxpayers are the financial backstop for this Yum mess, and this is about to become a huge financial disaster. Someone needs to put a For Sale sign up on the Yum Center before the banks/bond holders put a foreclosure sign on it.

I’ve seen the storm trooper at the SEC tournament a couple of times. Since the subject is up, what is the difference between a storm trooper and a scout trooper? I haven’t seen all of them.

For all of the people that think that Lexington needs a Yum Center type arena. The UL ticket prices went up alot, and the arena is also not making enough money to pay for it self. It was suppose to generate $6 million in taxes from the area around it, but it only produced $2 million. Moody’s is also lowering the bond rating for the Yum to junk bond status.

I’m all for it as long as we have a blue and white stormtrooper riding a segway around the concourse. Then and only then will we truly be the “gold standard.”
