We don’t mean to pick on Jerry…BUT, this video is worth noting. It is the post game interview with the media and Terrence Jones, and the first question is odd to say the least. Tipton asks Terrence if his finger has been used as a crutch for his lackluster play. The good doctor says that Calipari thought the finger was “no big deal” (Did Calipari really say that?) and he asks Jones to comment on that notion. I think I know what Jerry meant to do, but the reaction from Terrence seems to suggest that he didn’t love the question. Either way, asking if someone is using an injury as a crutch is fairly bold…but then again, so is Jerry.

When is KSR going to start calling out Tipton and the LHL for their biased coverage of UK? Fans don’t want the LHL to be a cheerleader, but enough is enough. How about just some fairness from them?. Come on KSR (and Drew) do the right thing and ambush Tipton with a camera and make him answer his critics. You can do this Drew! We need you!

What a worthless waste of oxygen Tipton is. Miserable, bitter, horrid old man. Calling him a “professional journalist” is like calling me a “professional athlete.” He was SO obviously trying to get in Jones’ head and make him doubt his coach’s faith in him. I love T Jones on this team. The fact that everybody turned an injury into a slump was a bit confusing for me. All the Wildcat faithful should be behind this kid supporting him and encouraging him, not doing what Fu(kin’ Tipton did.

Crap like this, and yet Matt, you continue to allow Aaron to blindlink tipturd on nearly a daily basis on KSR, even though the majority of us have complained very vocally in the comment sections every time it happens. Matt, brother i love ya, and i really like coming here, but don’t you think it’s time to stop supporting his antics and let the old flake go down the drain? I mean, i don’t mind having him linked here as long as the writers tell us up front we are clicking a tipturd, and they all do except for Aaron. Thanks for posting this video. Tipton words his question in such a way that Jones can’t win with his answer. If he agrees with what Calipari supposedly said about his finger not being a big deal, then he is saying he was using his finger as a crutch. But if he disagrees, then he is saying his coach was wrong. Either way, Jones is put in a bad light. Not cool of Tipton at all. But I’m sure he thinks it’s his job to do it.

Tipton is indeed a gob ‘o spit, but guess what, these kids are going to face questions like that as they proceed to the NBA.
TJ is a very talented and very shy young man. Putting up with inane questions and learning how to handle them is part of the learning process.
As pejorative as the question was, that’s just a drop in the bucket.
If you’re TJ, you learn to shrug off the petty attempts to get under your skin and are stronger for the experience.
Sometimes reporters are like dogdick gnats…bothersome but relatively insignificant.
Besides, a free press is never a bad thing.

Some of these interviews are just painful to watch, not even factoring in loaded questions like Jerry’s… Can’t imagine being that young and having all those microphones and cameras shoved in your face after you just got done playing your tail off for your team.. This gives me mad respect for these players more than I already had for their talents on the floor

I think Cal did say it was “no big deal” in one of his on court after the game interviews with Tom Leach. It was stated in the sense of “no excuses” Terrence can still perform, etc, etc.
For Jerry Tipton to misuse that statement to attempt to “stir the pot” and see if he can cause trouble is vintage Tipton. He is a sour old man who reminds me of “Mr. Potter” from “It’s a Wonderful Life”….a miserable, pathetic old man. Actually, I pity him …. he is a comical figure and laughed at by so many. Don’t let him get to you.

It’s a common misperception (I had it myself) that when you “pop” a dislocated finger back into place, everything is fine. WRONG. I dislocated my left index finger the last week of Oct. (playing basketball, guy jumped into one of my passes) and it still swells daily and the PIP joint is far from being healed.
If you don’t have bone damage, you can still have ligament and soft tissue damage that may eventually require surgery. Because Terrence has it buddy-taped, it keeps some pressure off the finger but he’ll likely have to ice it the rest of the season because the strain of catching passes and shooting with it causes it to swell and prolongs the healing process. Another thing is they usually set a dislocated finger at about 30 degrees, which changes how the ball leaves your hand on shots and passes. Maybe if Tipton would do a little basic research, he wouldn’t ask stupid questions.
