The 2018 NBA playoffs began yesterday for seven former Cats and it was an up and down day. John Wall’s Washington Wizards lost to Toronto despite the former Cat’s 23 points and 15 assists. The bigger story from that game was the absence of Jodie Meeks who didn’t play due to a suspension.
Bam Adebayo made his playoff debut as his Heat lost to the 76ers. Adebayo scored six points and pulled down one rebound in the loss.
The bright spot from the day was the group of Cats on the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans held off of furious rally by the Trail Blazers to win their first playoff game since 2011 and the first of Anthony Davis’ career. In the game, Davis had 34 points and 14 rebounds and Rajon Rondo had six points, eight rebounds and an impressive 17 assists.
Today Eric Bledsoe, Alex Poythress, Patrick Patterson, Dakari Johnson and Karl-Anthony Towns will all begin their quest for an NBA Championship.

Calipari continues hitting the recruiting trail
Yesterday, John Calipari met with a pair of teammates in New Jersey. Scottie Lewis and Bryan Antoine have played together since their freshman year of high school and many believe they will be a package deal. Lewis is ranked as the #1 small forward in the nation and Antoine is ranked as the #1 shooting guard in the class of 2019.
24/7’s Crystal Ball has Lewis as 50% Kentucky and 50% Florida, while Antoine is 78% Duke to only 11% for Kentucky.
These two would be a big time combination for Calipari to pick up. It’s no secret that the lack of chemistry early on has hurt some of his teams at Kentucky. To have two star players that are familiar with one another would be a big time benefit for Kentucky.
