The Chicago Tribune is reporting that the lawyer for Anthony Davis’ family will file a lawsuit next week against the Chicago Sun-Times and reporter Michael O’Brien for publishing two reports claiming the family had a financial deal in place for their son’s commitment. According to the Tribune story (found here), the Davis family attorney said the claims were “baseless” and were “defamation of character and very harmful”. He also said that they advised the paper that publishing anything of the sorts would force them to file a lawsuit in order to clarify.
Get your popcorn ready. Especially if there are actually three basketball coaches giving the information to O’Brien. I just hope they have to settle for, umm, $200,000 or so.
