Bob Gibbons Thinks Robert Carter Could Be A Cat Soon

Long-time basketball scout and creator of the coincidentally titled BobGibbons.com, Bob Gibbons, took off for the Peach Jam tournament in South Carolina yesterday, but threw out a little teaser to Cats fans before he did.  Gibbons Tweeted out “Headed to the Nike Peach Jam. Prediction: 6-8 PF Robert Carter, Thomasville, GA, will commit soon to Kentucky. Remember where you heard it!“.  Carter, rated as a five-star prospect, still does not hold an offer from the Cats, but that could presumably change soon.  Does that mean Gibbons is on to something or is it just a shameless ploy to get more followers without asking celebrities for re-Tweets?  Only time will tell.

Speaking of the Peach Jam, which is wonderfully delicious, Matt will be at the event and will be providing some updates over the next few days.  So be ready for that.  They will be glorious.

I would be happy with him!! Come on Cal, lets start getting the commits rolling in!

  2. Miguel

    Is he 2012 or 2013?

I will take him, 5 star big to play with Kyle Wiltjer in 2012-12 could start maybe off the bench. It feels good when your secondary recruits are 5 stars.

ESPN web site says he is 2012, and a 5-star player. Big body type, space eater in the lane, but skilled also, sounds like. Hope this is true, love it when the Cats have a big body type that pushes people around under the basket…

    2012

    5. This guy sounds like a dream player on the ESPN profile. Can’t be contained in the lane but also has skills facing up. The only weakness they list is a lack of discipline to stay on the block. That’s something that Cal could easily fix. I say bring him on.

I dont know about this prediction… His jersey is Underarmour, and his ball is Addidas?!?!?!? Oh my, where might he end up?… since clothing/shoe brands are now making decisions for the high school players.

I wonder how long Cal will hold off on taking commitments in hopes that the NBA gets a new CBA in place and we find out if a 2-year rule comes.

Even if there’s a 2 year rule, we can still add a good number of people, of course, with Miller and Vargas gone and Jones and Lamb likely gone.

According to Rivals, he doesnt even have an offer from UK. Could he really commit w/o an offer?

Looks a little like “Dinner Bell Mell”.

  14. Ol Duckster

Sounds like and reminds me of Dinner Bell Mel Turpin. I hope he plays like Mel!

Carter is definitely a 2012 prospect. Real nice wide body. Has really large hands for 6’7″ so he catches interior passes well.

The Big Blue Nation has room for one more……
